Bonar Law indicates the government is willing to consider canceling part or all of France's debt. He signals possible diplomatic moves to relieve financial pressures amid ongoing negotiations with Paris and London.
At the second allied premiers session in London Premier Bonar Law indicated Britain would reconsider canceling the French debt if a reparations settlement satisfactory to Great Britain is reached. He outlined a moratorium to restore Germany’s finances, no French military action, and a reduced indemnity of 30 to 40 billion gold marks. The development, along with Karl Bergman’s arrival with Cuno’s settlement plan, could push toward an accord with Poincaré.
New York officials order four hundred dance hall proprietors to halt indecent dancing or face jail. Police Commissioner George W Loft warns floor managers and owners that violations of new dancing rules will lead to arrest. The crackdown targets cheek to cheek dancing and the scandal walk and other moves described as demoralizing.

In Simporia Kansas on December 9 the state's case against William Allen White editor of Emporia was dismissed in district court. Judge Harris criticized the conduct of the administration and called the prosecution maliciously started. White said he had been Ku Kluxed by a court lacking courage.
Miss Alice Rhineland, 24, was shot and killed in her Omaha apartment early today. A short dark man of Italian descent, who escaped in a car, is described as the assailant, heard by a neighboring family as the victim cried out.
Political observers in Washington track the new progressive bloc formed by Senator La Follette Wisconsin. The 34 members vow government reforms, including abolishing the electoral college, broader primaries, revenue law revision, opposition to ship subsidy, and impeachment of Attorney General Daugherty, with nods to Soviet Russia.

Cambridge December 9 Harvard University faced operating costs over six million dollars for the year ending June 20 with total expenditures at 6 045 071 and a deficit of 77 536 63. The treasurer Charles Francis Adams notes the deficit is smaller than the prior year when it exceeded 3338 dollars.
Morriston Arkansas December 9 Less Smith a black man who shot and likely fatally wounded Deputy Sheriff Gran Farish during an attempted arrest was taken from jail and lynched tonight by a mob.
Heston says Ford will not declare stock dividends this year. The firm plans a $30,000,000 program of improvements and will use cash dividends for extensions and upgrades. He argues stock dividends are an accounting device and that surplus acts as insurance against downturns.
Eleven year old Kenticio Balavar confessed to District Attorney Garcia that he fired a .22 rifle during a hunt near Barelas bridge, killing nine year old Felipe Barela. Ignacio Salazar and Felipe Arellanes, neighbors and friends, reported the incident and described loading details and their fear after the shot.
Albany December 3 1924 The New York Attorney General Newton rules a wedding performed by radio illegal under the domestic relations law, stating the words in presence require actual presence of witnesses and contracting parties. The ruling addresses a proposed broadcast from San Francisco clergy to a couple in New York City.
Madrid crowds prepare for a large street protest demanding charges against those responsible for the Moroccan disaster. About one hundred associations notified the Ateneo, organizer of the event, of their participation while soldiers stay in barracks and officers are barred from the march route on threat of penalty.
Cardinal Martin de Herrera y de la Inglesia archbishop of Compostella for 38 years died today in Santiago Spain. He was 87 years old.
Ex governor Th. Bran ford Prince, aged 80, died in Flushing after long public service in New Mexico and the southwest. A former territorial chief justice and governor, he held many offices, wrote history works, and led irrigation and development efforts. Mrs Prince remains in Santa Fe. Funeral arrangements to be announced.
Georges Clemenceau spoke at the Academy of Music in Philadelphia and urged peace rooted in France's ideals. He argued France would defend its ideals, repay debts to America, and seek understanding with England, drawing applause and a lengthy crowd at Independence Hall. He then departed for Chicago to address farmers.

Seales has certificate and would assume office January 1. court session in February.
