Federal Commission on Industrial Relations hears labor union representative at Denver session as state militia observers grow restless. The hearing centers on labor rights and industrial tensions in Colorado with witnesses from unions and state agencies.
Professor James H Brewster testified before the federal commission on industrial relations about the Ludlow strike era. He painted a brutal picture of militia actions and court neglect, condemning Lt. K F Monte Linderfelt and Adjutant General John Chase for military excesses and biased juries. He cited Mother Jones arrest, Greek miners, and intimidation by company allies, arguing the strike reflected lawless state actions and weak enforcement of orders.

K N Gibson, sentenced from Multnomah County to serve one to five years for obtaining money under false pretenses, was denied admission at the state prison in Salem when he arrived without commitment papers. He was told to return to Portland to fetch them, expressing his disappointment at the delay.
Ambassador Morgenthau reported to the State Department that more than 800,000 people in Albania and Palestine face famine and tens of thousands have died of starvation. The dispatch was sent to the Red Cross, which issued a public subscription appeal for relief funding.

New Haven December 7 The worst wind and sleet storm since 1907 paralyzed telephone and telegraph lines across Connecticut. Some cities were cut off and five days are projected to restore normal service. Shipping halted and shore cottages suffered damage from unusually high seas.
Seabright New Jersey December 7 driven by a sixty mile gale from the northeast which had blown steadily for almost a day and a half the Atlantic waters tonight were pounding the Jersey coast.
On the Jersey coast at Seabright water breached a bulkhead at 1 a m flooding the beach. Three cottages were washed out and residents evacuated with fears more structures could collapse at the next tide. The Seabright Beach Club building, cost about 50 000 dollars, was undermined and expected to fail further. My damage estimate stands around 70 000 dollars. Lifesavers monitored the coast closely.
The northeast storm continues with heavy rain in Philadelphia totaling nearly three and a half inches by midnight. Ocean City and other seaside areas report wind and tide damage to ocean front property while electric wires fail and rail service to seashore points is disrupted. Telegraph and telephone networks are crippled and Philadelphia port shipping is nearly at a standstill.
The Rehoboth Beach area suffered severe damage as a north east storm from Saturday night destroyed the board walk and Surf Avenue structures. Electric and water plants were wrecked and several cottages swept into the sea. Estimated damage stands at 175000 with Henlopen lighthouse reported in danger.
