Mary Baker Eddy dies at Boston home in her ninetieth year. Obituary notes her leadership of the Ogientists and lasting influence on their movement.
The Morning Journal notes the death of Mary Baker Eddy founder of Christian Science at her Chestnut Hill home near Boston. District medical examiner Dr West attributed pneumonia as the likely cause after Eddy died late Sunday night in the company of close aides and household staff. A simple private service was anticipated with few attendees per Eddy’s wishes, and the report includes background on Eddy’s Concord and Boston residences, church leadership, and a 1967 suit linked to her estate.
