Warm Welcome for Taft in Moscow

Secretary Taft spent Sunday in Moscow touring the Kremlin palaces and churches with Governor General von der Heydt’s aide guiding him. Major Downing Dies Pioneer of Alfalfa in Colorado

Major Jacob Downing aged 87 died at his city home. Civil War veteran organized Colorado Cavalry Company 1 and served in New Mexico. Thirty Miners Entombed At Naomi Mine After Gas Explosion

In Fayette City Pennsylvania on December 1 a gas explosion trapped 25 to 30 miners at the Naomi mine of United Coal three miles west of town.
