William Ward a Seattle shipbuilder and wrestler was shot and killed by his own shotgun during a Thanksgiving day yacht cruise. The weapon discharged as he tried to reach it, nearly tearing off his head. Ward, his fiancée Agnes Stevenson and relatives were aboard. this marked the seventh hunting accident death in western Washington since the season opened.

New York Nov 30 The United States Supreme Court decree ends the Standard Oil of New Jersey holding company and disintegrates its more than thirty subsidiaries. Beginning tomorrow each subsidiary will operate independently in its home state as 26 Broadway loses its central control. Stockholders receive proportional shares in the thirty plus companies, with personnel reassigned. Public price effects andIndustry relations remain uncertain as competition is expected to rise.
Spokane dispatch reports fourteen wealthy Northwest tribal representatives led by Chief No Shirt of the Walla Walla tribe depart Spokane in a special car, seeking constructive Indian legislation. They aim to form a Brotherhood of North American Indians with eastern tribes and press Congress for long due claims. Mexico City reports two federal victories over insurgents to the war department. Candido Procel's band was routed near Guanajuato's state capital last Tuesday and in Durango near Canitas yesterday afternoon Jesus del Palacio was killed. Procel was wounded. The uprising claimed to be in the name of Emilio Vasquez Gomez. Losses were not heavy.
