Government to provide thirty million dollars to rediscount outstanding cotton loan debts. ADAG stands for agricultural credit agency aiding farmers. Funds allocated to help farmers through rediscounting outstanding liabilities.
Secretary McAdoo announced the government may deposit 20 million dollars in gold at Federal Reserve Banks Atlanta Dallas and Richmond to back loans on cotton warehouse receipts. No interest would be charged on deposits for now to aid southern cotton producers amid wartime market disruption.
Washington reports the new American note on neutral trade interference will be redrafted to address Britain's cotton contraband order. The note, nearly complete, will discuss the legality under international law of the latest British action while preserving claims for cotton seized before the order.
Leonard Ellis, negro trooper of the Ninth United States Cavalry, and R. R. Kleber, white private of the Eighteenth Infantry, were arrested by civil authorities in Douglas on the charge of attempting to kill John Peters, another Ninth Cavalry trooper. Peters reported he was stabbed and attacked by Mexicans after gambling with them. investigators say he was robbed of money and Ellis and Kleber allegedly spared his life in return for blaming the attack on Mexicans.

Disinfection work is moving quickly with four of six Illinois counties cleared. three infected herds in Cook County and one in McDonald County awaiting slaughter among seventeen affected herds in Cook County.

The San Robertio Mining company of Zacatecas Mexico files in federal court claiming conspiracy to fix zinc ore prices. Defendants include WW A Hauser American Metals and several mining firms. Suit seeks 2,708,400 in damages and treble relief under the Sherman law.
