Sulphur Oklahoma Aug 22 Senator Robert L Owen named in Gore bribery probe as principal in Indian contracts seeking a fifty percent fee Attorneys for the Choctaws say Owen entered such contracts before his Senate tenure and left fee determination to the Court of Claims If approved he would receive half of 12 to 14 million dollars while Indians would lose most of their property through the lien in the 1908 omnibus Indian bill.
Managua reports say President Madriz fled the capital to Corinto as liberal forces advance to the city. William Pittman, a Boston engineer accused of laying mines, was released from the American consulate. Prisoners in the penitentiary escaped amid rioting and a provisional leadership line moved to Jose Dolore Estrada.
A peace commission of foreign consuls formed to inform General Estrada of his intentions. The group was forced to return to Managua because the tillroad tracks had been torn up.

President Madriz Dr Trias and generals Ortiz Toledo Valdez Lara Chavarria Chaves Perromo and other Madriz lieutenants departed Corinto aboard the Pacific Mail steamer San Jose bound for Amapuala Honduras. General Estrada to cede presidency to revolutionary General Macia. Six hundred Managua prisoners freed Friday and 100 from Garden Island Sunday. Conditions reported quiet at Corinto Leon Managua and Chinandega.
