Anarchists are incarcerated in county jail as military prisoners. Guardsmen arrest James Rowan and others on charges tied to anti government agitation. The incident reflects escalating tensions irking Uncle Sam.
James Rowan and twenty-five IWW members were seized by Idaho national guardsmen at the Spokane headquarters and held as military prisoners. The action aimed to back a regional strike of agricultural and construction workers set to begin the next day. Rowan warned the movement would intensify and spread to additional industries.
Denver, August 19. For New Mexico, Monday and probably Tuesday will be fair with little change in temperature.
