The Arizona Attorney General issues a statement denouncing the principles of the W. W. Organization and its impact on deportees seeking work in Warren district. The document frames official concern over employment rights and wartime policy effects.
Attorney General Wiley E. Jones denounces the I W W as intolerable in Bisbee Ariz telling about 200 women including wives of deported workers that no I W W member should be hired in the district or any other. He says workers will not find employment here and outlines findings from talks with thirty to forty of the deported men’s spouses. Governor Campbell and Jones plan to address another Bisbee gathering to hear protests.
Governor Thomas F Campbell arrived in Bisbee from Phoenix at 7 p.m. to investigate local conditions and ensure constitutional rights, meeting Cochise county Republicans at Osborn Junction and dining with them. He said federal or state armed force could end unlawful deportations if law is not observed, and he would not declare martial law.
Denver forecast for Friday calls for fair in the west and partly cloudy and cooler east portion. Saturday looks fair with warmer conditions in the east portion.
