Mrs. Ella Sheets, 36, of Roswell New Mexico, was struck by a car driven by W T Wylie on Fourth Street near Central. She sustained severe bruises and shock but no internal injuries. taken to St Joseph's hospital. Witnesses said the wheels passed over her body. Wylie stopped after the collision.

An unpaid note for four shekels in silver with forty percent annual interest, dating to 1962 B C, was found among clay tablets at the University of Pennsylvania Museum. The document from Bur-Mama to Sinna tum bears four witnesses with seals, not signatures. Experts estimate a shekel then equaled about $160 today.
