Federal troops trap rebel forces amid heavy combat as General Sanjines advances toward Mexico. Northwestern Railroad lines are cut, isolating Orozco from Casas Grandes and shaping the border clash.
From Juarez Mexico Aug 3 rebels report fighting at Corralitos 150 miles southwest of Juarez and 50 miles north of Casas Grandes. A 400 man rebel train was sent to reinforce as federals under Sanjines advance toward the railway crippling Juarez and isolating Orozco from Casas Grandes.
A young Mormon teen disguised as a Mexican rancher hides a shawl and hat to ride a freight car to Juarez after rebels seize the village of Dublan. Many residents abandon homes and fields as federal troops are avoided for safety, with limited rifles among some Americans. Jarvis remains behind to ship two carloads of provisions to El Paso before rebels block Juarez delivery.
Mexico City says the permanent committee of congress approved a bill suspending guarantees in three states and parts of nine others allowing execution of rebels without trial. The measure targets Morelos and Guerrero and parts of Sinaloa Puebla Mexico Oaxaca Tlaxcala plus Sonora Durango Coahuila where Zapata and Orozco factions operate.

Witnesses say Casey entered with a rifle and Amberson returned fire after being shot in the abdomen. The dispute is tied to a will and Casey is related to the late Colonel William C Greene through his wife.
Reports state two of four shot victims, Mrs Wallbrecht and James McWhorter, have slim chances of recovery after George Clifford Ballew opened fire and held off posses in Platte canyon and Breed station. Police believe Ballew may have fled toward Las Cruces as others recover or plead with local authorities for his capture.
