Charles Jones a black janitor at Sulphur Indian Territory bank was arrested in Kansas City on theft charges after $6,000 disappeared from the bank. He had $250 on hand and $2,500 recovered from his wife who disclosed where $2,100 was buried at Sulphur.
Wilbourne Haywood secretary treasurer of the Western Federation of Miners arrived in Ogden with his wife and family amid a welcoming crowd. Attendants and reporters noted the scene as the party prepared to travel to Denver for the Holse trial.
