Bank Hold-Up in Harlem Ended by Marshal's Shot
Three masked bandits robbed the First National Bank of Harlem around 11 30 this morning. One gunman was killed during the exchange with Marshal Waswell who entered the bank as the robbery progressed. The others fled with two automobiles and a pursuit by armed possemen followed. The cash reportedly totaled 310000 and the scene sparked a broad manhunt as authorities chase the fugitives in the Harlem area and surrounding terrain.

Guadalajara July 31 Cleofas Mota leader of the Mad eristag band rose against the government in Jalisco about ten days ago. He died in Chapala from wounds after a close fight with pursuing federals near Ajijic. Mota had led about one hundred followers and was shot twice before escaping into a canyon. He faded from blood loss and was found unconscious by a passerby and later died in Chapala.

Washington July 31 The campaign publicity bill with senate amendments will be sent to a conference committee of the two houses tomorrow. Democrats of the house voted down a plan to keep the original house bill and directed Chairman Rucker to push conference without final limits.
