The board of penitentiary commissioners met at the territorial prison with President F H Pierce. New member Charles F Busley took his seat as Malaquais Martinez and Juan Navarra attended. A new brick cell house thirty by ninety feet will be built on the south side of the prison yard to house more convicts and later serve as a storeroom. The kitchen was expanded to feed 300 men, with two meat toasters and a large coffee urn added. There are 266 inmates now, with a projected rise to over 300 by year end.
