Albuquerque Citizen Highlights Banking Debate and Local News
The Albuquerque Citizen prints a lengthy letter from W. T. Strickler defending the county finance actions, noting the Bank of Commerce did not intervene. It contrasts the 1904 and current boards over borrowing, cites tax payer opposition, and explains how funds were secured for flood labor and property protection. The paper then reviews a profile of Kitty Smith of South Whitley and comments on morning versus afternoon paper coverage, insurance trends, and fair priorities for agricultural exhibits.

The Real Fool in Joint Statehood Debate
The Las Vegas Optic scorns those preferring separate to joint statehood, urging persistence for New Mexico and other territories toward statehood. A parable compares a boy offered a half loaf to choosing the whole, concluding the reader who accepts less is a fool.

Fragmented critique of New Mexico papers in old issue
The write up mocks a newspaper’s handling of news about a Methodist missionary becoming an Episcopal bishop and recalls front pages from Chicago and Boston. It notes Albuquerque’s two papers in the Southwest, praising the Journal as a warning paper in New Mexico while describing the period’s press as sensational and inconsistent.

No Football Team for Albuquerque City’s Westward Tilt Fizzles
Indications are that Albuquerque will lack a formal football team this year. Efforts by Roy Stamm and others to organize an eleven have failed due to poor attendance and weak talent. The Lumber Mill team is practicing and may play Thanksgiving or Christmas games, with Fort Bills and A M College asking for matches. The high school beat the varsity 15 to 0 in a Saturday contest, led by fast players Clancy and Br, while punting remained weak.
