The Albuquerque council No. 641 holds a major initiation on Sunday October 21 with three degrees exemplified in Biss lodge. Geographer Douglas Guffy Arrested in Albuquerque
Geographer Douglas Guffy in charge of western division of the USGS arrived in Albuquerque last night en route to Gallinas and Cuba survey areas. He traveled from Fingetatt via California and Arizona since July to study forest reserve boundaries and coal prospects, with three field parties including one led by H. Baldwin. A separate report states Dan Guffy, once a Santa Fe yards conman, was arrested in Albuquerque on a Belén warrant for obtaining goods by false pretenses, awaiting Sheriff Baca's arrival.
