Margart Block Armour Memorial Home falters in loneliness
A Kansas City charity once famed for a grand estate fails to attract residents due to rigid age and fee restrictions. Isadore Hatfield and wife lived there after Mrs Hatfield's husband died, but the home remains largely empty as lonely rooms echo the absence of residents. The cold detail of neglect contrasts with the lavish beginnings of the Armour Memorial Home for Aged Couples. The piece notes the original intent to aid Mrs. Isadore Hatfield, who now laments the lack of companionship amid the mansion’s vast rooms.
