Tombstone Pioneer Story Highlights Comstock and Vigilance

A Tombstone reminiscence profiles Josiah Comstock, a former gambler and self described storyteller, detailing his life from New England to the Arizona frontier. He recalls the 1870s shootout era, the Brasseton robbery, the camera trick on a dead bandit, and argues that law and orderly citizens rather than marshals created safety. He credits local, peaceful taxpayers with enforcing laws in Tombstone as the Earps faced enemies and vigilance committees dissolved without bloodshed.
