Jenks Manslaughter Case Is Dismissed
In district court Assistant District Attorney George Bullard moved to dismiss Hallie Jenks manslaughter charges. Judge Kent granted the motion after noting the jury favored conviction only two to ten for acquittal and acknowledging no new facts exist for a new jury. The judge expressed concern about punishing a woman who might have acted under severe pressure and suggested the case, once dismissed, would deter others.
