A Galveston dispatch reports Texas railroads plan to curb misbilling by class of freight. They say over 3 million dollars in freight revenue was lost last year to shipments billed under wrong class rates. A secret plan funds 500 thousand dollars for system installation and upkeep with seven supervisors and many agents statewide.
A.M. Williams, recent arrival to Alamogordo, worked twenty minutes as a switchman before fatal injuries. He died at EL Paso Southwestern hospital hours later. Williams leaves a widow and children. body sent to San Marcial New Mexico for burial. The report notes the incident occurred March 1 and cites a special dispatch to the El Paso Times.
