Ambushed Indians Murder Americans at Sonora Rail Line
A Douglas dispatch dated June 1 reports Yaqui Indians ambushed the Cananmen railway crew at the Yaqui River line in Sonora. Contractor David Slinkard and two Mexican soldiers were killed. Mrs Slinkard and daughter escaped with armed help. Slinkard formerly worked for Texas & Pacific and joined Southern Pacific six months ago. The inquiry notes this is the first massacre since the invasion of the Yaqui river by the railroad. Bucklen's Arnica Salve advertised for wounds and sores.
