Alton Owners to Exercise Control in Rail Plan Abrogated
New York June 17 The agreement of 1904 between Harriman interests and the Rock Island for alternate control of the Chicago and Alton Railway is abrogated by mutual consent stockholders will now manage the property. Rock Island held control this year Harriman the next, plan to lapse in 1914. Officials say stockholders policy best serves their interests. Rock Island chairs the executive committee and Harriman directors have been reduced. A stockholders meeting will elect directors under the new plan.

Yuma Arizona June 17 station agent for the Southern Pacific at Salton Sea was bitten on the foot by a rattler while flagging a passenger train. He rode the Sunset Limited to Yuma for care and was later sent to Los Angeles as swelling worsened.

Husband Bookkeeper Is Arrested In Denver Misappropriation Case
A Burlingames Country Club bookkeeper was arrested in Denver on charges of misappropriating funds. His wife Mrs Parr initially heartbroken clung to his innocence and vowed to follow him to jail. Parr's lawyers argued that if he had heeded advice to fight the case he might not be in Sheriff Barnett's custody and could have appealed to the supreme court rather than leaving Colorado.
