Hondo Reservoir Project Near Completion At Roswell
Harris, the railroad contractor in charge, says the government dam and reservoir west of Roswell New Mexico are practically finished. By June 15 the remaining work including the sill gates and riprapping will be done, with capacity to water 10 000 acres and potential doubling if water holds. The project employs about 100 teams and 200 men, costing around 250 000 dollars. Harris also discussed the Carlsbad Irrigation project and plans to rebuild Pecos river diversions at a 450 000 dollar cost, with work to begin after machinery arrives. Harris then departed for Mexico to assess similar opportunities at Temosachic.
