Territorial fair running program names two superintendents

Two department superintendents were named for the territorial fair yesterday. M. P. Stamm will manage fruit exhibits and C. W. Cook, Jr. will supervise baseball. Stamm runs a wholesale fruit business and has experience with exhibits. Cook is a Santa Fe agent and a keen baseball fan, able to stay in touch with teams in New Mexico and Arizona as the $1,500 purse aims to attract interest. The fair committee also completed the running races program, noting purses nearly double those of former fairs, with events across Colorado-New Mexico Circuit from August to September in Colorado Springs, Rocky Ford, Pueblo, and Albuquerque. The program lists multiple purses and weights for various age groups and distances, including sprint dashes, mile races, and a Washington Clothing relay.
