Commissioner Stroup Returns from Mountains District Tour
County Commissioner Stroup returned last evening from a trek to four mountain school districts. He noted these districts are financially the poorest in the county but are performing well and show strong support for plans to raise corn. Pupils and parents expressed enthusiasm and pledged unified backing. He faced mud rather than heavy snow on the trip and reminded readers of the White Elephant free lunch and Zeiger’s cafe Sunday dinner.
