Bill Giles His Whiskers Stay Eight Feet Long
Special Correspondence Ortonville Michigan Aug 30 Bill Giles of the Fifth Michigan cavalry has not shaved for 20 years and keeps his eight foot whiskers teased tall by his wife who dresses them with pins and washes them. His comrades at Minneapolis encampment were amused by the long beard and his wife takes pride in the spectacle. He can still run a mile at Ortonville and says the beard began after marriage.
