Albuquerque Portrait of a Growing Trading Center
William E Curtis surveys Albuquerque and surrounding region, detailing population, churches, schools, and a strong commercial club. He notes diverse demographics, major institutions, and ambitious projects including a sugar factory plan and a large planing mill exporting doors to Europe. The city’s lumber, banks, and rail links support growth as a regional commercial hub with 700 Santa Fe shop workers and 1,100 mill jobs.

Red Hot Dope for the Fair Campaign Flares Up
The territorial fair association launches a broad advertising blitz for the twenty fifth fair. Scout Knight and a crew will decorate Western Union and Postal Telegraph poles with white flags and three sheet posters from La Junta to Winslow Arizona. Knight will tour the territory, visiting every town between here and Winslow, staffing posters and shipping materials ahead. Special agents will cover Farmington, Durango, and the Santa Fe route to ensure nationwide awareness before September 18 to 23. The plan aims to make the fair known within 250 miles of Albuquerque.
