Albuquerque Hopes For National Irrigation Congress Visit
Albuquerque Commercial Club pursues securing the 1907 National Irrigation Congress for the city or, failing that, 1908. Delegates from New Mexico, led by Captain Clark M. Warr and Hon. Solomon Lana, will press Boise City to host in 1907 while promoting New Mexico as the Sunshine Territory. A scheme to reclaim mesa lands via the low line ditch is reviewed, with a committee empowered to liaise with Rio Grande Land, Water and Development Company. A 640 acre winter wheat test near the military well may attract Campbell Dry Farming interest and broader irrigation growth.
