Winter woes and harvest hopes hit Indiana towns
The dam at Wolcottville washed out again this winter while Lagrange's town marshal earned about 8300 for eight months of service. A. F. Summerlin of Lagrange struck a 30000 bonanza in a Colorado mine. Lagrange elevators brimmed with wheat and shipments halted. La Grange clock hands froze at 11 45 during the day. In Lima George Epacoun heated wheat to test cold effects, and farmers were encouraged by a crop that remains strong despite freeze fears.

Cromwell man dies after Kingston injury
Grover Mack of Cromwell, hurt at Kingston sometime since, is reported by the Lapyess to have died a few days ago. The Empress notes that telegraph instruments will be added to offices on the B and C line. Aur. Roperts of Syracuse shipped to friends in Pennsylvania a pike three feet six inches long and weighing eighteen pounds. The Hapress says Mr M Vas Hern, B and O agent at this place, has resigned to move to Cromwell, to be replaced by a Mr Carr.
