Plans for Expanded Hatcheries in 1914 State Program

George Berg the superintendent of hatcheries and George W. Miles state that the game and fisheries department will expand hatchery operations significantly in 1914. Three hatcheries are in operation and five more are run with local fish and game associations to stock nearby waters.

Ligonier Banner Under New Management

O. E. McCarver of LaPorte Ind has bought the McDonald interest and assumed control of the Ligonier Banner. Hon J. B. Stoll of South Bend who started the paper over thirty years ago will retain a share and remain active. McCarver is an experienced newspaper man and Stoll is among the oldest editors in the state.

James N Harvey a veteran resident of Noble county died at his Jefferson township home on Thursday morning February 5 1914 at age 71 years 1 month 27 days following about a week of illness from pneumonia.

William D. Heltzel born near Kimmell Indiana July 12 1882 died January 16 1914 at his parents home south of Albion aged 31 years 7 months and 18 days He left a wife Nellie Addis and a daughter Ida Mae and was survived by his father Elias mother Harriett two brothers John and George a sister Mrs Jennie Stienbarger and many relatives His obsequies were at United Brethren church conducted by Rev C S Bream and interment was in Albion cemetery Card of thanks from Mr and Mrs Elias Heltzel and a Methodist minister praises Chamberlains Cough Remedy available from M C Beck.
