Albany Women's Club approves a three category garden contest with three classes each for youth and adults. An executive canvass and on blank committee will organize, with judges later named and prizes announced. The club also hosts J. M. Fire siren in operation at Sterling town
The Sterling fire siren wiring was completed and tested last Thursday afternoon with the whistle blown for the first time. The first distress sounded at 1:30 a.m. Sunday in March 1930 when the Volunteer Fire department used the new equipment at Miss Sarria Boynton’s cabin near Cedar Creek. The whistle will sound daily at 12 noon and the apparatus is praised as a safeguard for towns, prompting a question why Albany isn’t equipped yet.

Albert Walker Injured In Hog Truck Accident Saturday
Albert Walker of Newtown, a prosperous farmer, was injured when his hog laden truck overturned near the L. A. Drury farm en route to Glinton market. He sustained a dislocated elbow with left arm injuries. Dr LeRue of Erie treated him and he was taken to Moline Public Hospital for X rays. Mrs Walker visited Sunday. hogs and truck were not damaged.
