Canneryman A R Brueger Dies in Phoenix Arizona
Veteran Alaska cannery operator A R Brueger died February 18 at his home in Phoenix. He was 71, born in Seattle, and spent his youth near Stanwood Washington. Widow Vivian says burial will be in Stanwood. Brueger led fisheries work around Wrangell for 25 years before retiring. He ran ARB Packing Stikine Fish Co Wrangell Cold Storage Co Burnett Inlett Packing Co Farwest Wrangell Co and a fleet of canneries tenders and boats. He is survived by his widow and daughter Mrs. Florence Avan of California.
