City Council Reconsiders Hospital Grounds Sale for Lutheran Church
At the March 3 meeting Mayor Ohmer and Councilmen Allen Swanson Greenan and Gronseth heard a Lutheran Church committee led by Rev W J Maakestad seek to acquire part of hospital grounds to build a new church. The plan would require trading hospital lots to keep space for Masonic Lodge frontage. No decision reached. The mayor reported a potential air port site selling for 1650 dollars for 150 feet or another site could be obtained at no cost. Insurance for the hospital building and equipment was renewed with 4000 dollars on the building and 1000 on furnishings. Sivert Larsen protested a property tax increase, but the council affirmed the assessment.
