Petersburg Plans July 4 Parade And Waterfront Events
The Petersburg Chamber outlines a July 4 program with an 11 am parade led by BFW women, street events and racing by the American Legion, a waterfront program by Gerald Lind and Dean Weedin, and a fireworks display at 11 pm supervised by Ken Welde and the Fire Department. A boat and motor prize will be awarded, with Harold Lee coordinating street concessions. City Manager Mel Cross discussed state bond issues and city credit at a Juneau conference. Funeral for Marie Gjerde Held in Petersburg
Funeral services were held at Peters burg Lutheran Church for Marie Gjerde born December 6, 1892 in Norway. Survived by husband Andrew and three sons all of Petersburg, plus two half brothers in Norway and Washington. Service directed by Stikine Funeral Home.
