Ralph Wooton and Ed Hagerman guided hunts in Alaska from May 4 to 14 near Peters burg and from May 22 to last Monday. The parties spotted 32 and 71 bears respectively with limits of brown and black bears for the clients including Joe Ban Daalwyk Bert Fischer Preston Levis and D C DuBois. Levis is Libby Owens Ford board chairman. Weather favored the trips and Radar will be chartered for a Fish and Wildlife Service hunt after September 1 with the bear season closing June 30 in SE Alaska.

Palmer Editor Alvin DeJulio Dies in Palmer
Alvin DeJulio founder and publisher of the Palmer Frontiersman died Sunday after a brief illness. He was 47 and had long tied to the Palmer Valley Frontiersman weekly. Survivors include his wife Billie and three children. He previously worked for the Anchorage Daily News in 1946 and served as vice president of the Palmer School District Board at his death. Funeral services were planned in Palmer on Wednesday.
