Petersburg Pioneer Harry Colp Dies at 68
Harry Colp, a longtime Petersburg resident born in Montevideo Minnesota, died at Petersburg Hospital Saturday afternoon at age 68. Funeral services were held Monday at the Sons of Norway hall conducted by evangelists John Friesen Cora Horton and Lillian Willis. Burial followed in Petersburg cemetery. Survived by wife Minnie Byer Colp two sons Richard of Petersburg and Douglas of Fairbanks and a daughter Virginia of Petersburg.

Bears Taken by Guided Party Near Petersburg
A hunting party from Petersburg with local guides traveled May 21 to June 7 and took seven bears seven with three brown and four black bears. The party included Jesse Littl etton, director of research at Corning Glass Works, and his brother Wilbur of San Antonio. The Sophia carried Orrie Harris as skipper and Mrs Harris as cook. Ralph Young and Ralph Hall guided the expedition, which saw 67 bears. Hall and Young depart today with J W Broome and son to hunt until the season closes June 20.

Explosion injures fisherman on small troller at Petersburg dock
A local explosion on a small troller during gasoline fueling at an oil dock in Petersburg left An drew Suspene with deep facial and limb burns.
