Former Resident Robert Wilder Allen Dies in Olympia
Robert Wilder Allen an engineer for the Bonneville Power Administration died May 25 in an Olympia hospital at age 43. Born April 9 1917 in Petersburg he lived in Olympia twenty years and attended the University of Washington. Funeral services were May 26 in Olympia and he is survived by his wife Luella Dale Allen son Edward and his parents Mr and Mrs Robert M Allen.

In the past week at Petersburg General Hospital two local families welcomed newborn boys. Alan Lee Bain arrived May 28 weighing six pounds eleven and a half ounces, with Rod Bain serving as the former grade school principal. The Bain family moves this month to Bellingham. Magnus Jakobsen and wife welcomed a son on June 1 weighing six pounds one ounce. the father works for Hamner and Wikan store.

Death of Mrs. Hsther Johnson in California noted
The Press reports the death Sunday of Mrs. Hsther M. Johnson a Petersburg Alaska pioneer who died in San Mateo California at age old. Born in Lysekil Sweden she lived in Bayfield Wisconsin North Dakota and Petersburg before moving to San Mateo five years ago. Funeral services are in Seattle with interment at Lakeview cemetery. Survivors include four daughters one son two sisters and a brother in Sweden and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. The family requests gifts to charities in her memory.

Police Halt Teenage Beer Party In North End
City Police Chief Hoff and Patrolman Loose broke up a drunken youth party last Saturday night. Two groups of bear hunters completed trips with Petersburg guides in the past week. Dwight Meyers of Evanston Indiana and Wm Buffy of Kansas City Kansas returned with about 35 bears seen including a brownie shot by Buffy and two blacks. Meyers bagged three bl a c k i t s. Ralph Young led the expedition with Mrs Young cooking. A second party guided by Rajonse Wooton for 15 days included four Texans with notable figures Dr K T Miller Beaumont TX R M Buckley Beaumont S F Dean Chicago and Arthur Temple Jr Diboll TX. Dean won the largest brownie nine feet one and a half inches. Guides included Ralph Wooton Frank Larber Frank Wooton and Lou Hall.
