Smith brothers H G and Louie from Fitzgerald Georgia completed their eighth Alaska hunting trip this week and returned home. They have taken 32 bears in total from the territory under guide Ralph Wooton with Bert Zuver and Bud Mortengen as aides. They hunted brown bears on Admiralty Island and the mainland from Hobart Bay south, consistently reaching their limit.

Bernice Ann Gordon of Krite died Tuesday at the local hospital after a brief illness. Funeral services and interment will be in Kake cemetery after a family gathering. Born February 17, 1913 in Juneau, she was a former teacher.
