Mildred Cornstad formerly of Petersburg and Nels Evans married December 11, 1937 at 9 pm in the Oscar Nicholson residence on Magnolia Bluff Seattle. Rev H A Stubb officiated candlelit rites before about 100 guests including out of town visitors from Bellingham Everett and Tacoma.

Northland Christmas Party showcases community help
The Northland Christmas Party at the Variety Theatre was a joint project by the Chamber of Commerce the Northland Transportation Company and the City Council with $75 $25 donations. Grade School Faculty planned an operetta later moved to the theatre and Santa Claus distributed candy and fruit to students. The High School Gleen Club performed carols between acts as the audience enjoyed the show with well made scenery and costumes. Frank Kelly thanked organizers and Santa joked about a strenuous day and kids saying Thanks Knut.
