Rescue of Western Sun Crew by Coast Guard

Funeral Services For Alfred Nilsen Held In Alaska
Funeral services for Alfred Nilsen were conducted Wednesday in the Salvation Army Chapel with Captain Arthur Smith officiating. Born February 5, 1885 in Norway, he came to Alaska about 40 years ago, worked as a piledriver and construction worker around Ketchikan, later summers with the city. He died Sunday December 12 at his home from a heart attack found by landlord Chris Wick. A lifelong bachelor, he left no known survivors. Pallbearers were Loyal Order of the Moose members Ralph Wooton Farrell Bennett Gene White John Ward. Burial followed at Petersburg Cemetery.
