Injured logger James Methven undergoes surgery in Seattle
James Methven, 22, injured Wednesday at his Snow Pass logging camp when a log rolled on him, was paralyzed from the waist and underwent surgery in Seattle last night. He arrived early Thursday and was brought in by Keith Bloom camp workers. his wife accompanied him as his parents live in Bothell, Washington.

An eighteen year old Juneau man David Woodruff was arrested by Petersburg officer Bob Loose for soliciting liquor while with five other minors. The case will be heard in Juneau magistrate court. Mabel's Liquor Store was fined 250 dollars for selling liquor to a minor by Deputy Magistrate Vernon Counter.
