Nurses Receive Polio Vaccines At Petersburg Meeting
The Petersburg Registered Nurses Association held a November session where Ol lis Klawik, Frances Thompson, Annie Lewis, Jeanne Ridley Fern Hayward and Bea Espe seth received initial polio vaccine injections from Dr R C Smith. The group urged unvaccinated residents aged 20 to 55 in the area to get injections to protect against poliomyelitis and noted there were no casualties among the nurses.

Anderson Service Held Monday
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from the Cornelius Funeral Home for Arthur Thomas Anderson 39 who took his life near Pt Baker on November 26 The Rev Ron Snelling of the local Presbyterian Church conducted the service. Andersons father Thomas A Anderson and a sister Florence Miller were here for the service He is also survived by his mother at the parents home in Coos Bay and by another sister Doris Norton of Astoria Ore A brother Clarence was one of three men drowned in an accident near Wank Island about five years ago Anderson had been employed in the plywood industry near Coos Bay for the past ten years except for some time in Alaska He came north in October 1 to Red Bay The senior Anderson is a member of the Moose lodge and local brothers assisted with the funeral and acted as pallbearers They were Joe Johnson Harold Steppe George Lyons Ted Foster Al Johnson and Jack Massey The father and Mrs Muller returned to their homes by air on Wednesday.
