George Pendegraft Dies This Morning on Petersburg River
George Pendegraft a Petersburg resident for 28 years died at 6 am while fishing in West Petersburg. He rested in a skiff near Knudson Brothers and apparently suffered a stroke. Discovered by Bill Snyder and Frank Rozich he was taken to Petersburg General Hospital and pronounced dead. He leaves a mother and sisters in Indianapolis and was a 27 year member of the Order of Moose. No funeral date set.

Baby Born Aboard S S Alaska En Route North of Seattle
A baby boy was born Thursday aboard the S S Alaska five miles north of Alert Bay between Seattle and Ketchikan while Mrs Harold Kjolso and her husband traveled toward Ketchikan. Captain Henry Burns reported the birth. mother and infant are healthy. The ship departed Seattle at 11 a.m. Wednesday and the birth occurred at 10 10 a m Thursday.

Wingard family returns after Alaska trip to Petersburg

Sjursen Services In Seattle Sunday
Funeral services will be held tomorrow in Seattle for Ole Sjursen 68 former Petersburg resident and fisherman. Sjursen died in a Seattle hospital Tuesday after a long illness. He owned the Lansing and fished halibut here for 30 years. He is survived by two brothers, Samuel in Prince Rupert and Peter fishing the Lansing. Sjursen was a member of the Sons of Norway and a longtime Elks member.
