Boat Radar Completes 30 Day Alaska Cruise
The Radar captained by Ralph Wooten and guided by Lee Ellis finished a 30 day voyage from Ketchikan to Cape Spencer with a California sportsmen party. The group, including Mr. and Mrs. W. L. Barneson of San Francisco and Mr. and Mrs. William Van Fleet of Orleans, spent most days fly fishing and reported limits. They photographed brown and black bears at Anan Creek near Wrangell where 57 blacks were spotted in one afternoon. Barneson once ran a whaleing station near Rake in 1908 and noted many SE Alaska changes since then. This was the fourth Radar charter of the season and both crew members take a rest now.

Two B-29s Complete First World Hop
Two globe girdling B-29s completed the first world hop landing at Davis Monthan Field in Arizona at 5 31 am. MST today after a 15 day 10 hop voyage that began with 17 men aboard each plane. One support plane crashed near Aden southern Arabia killing 17 of 18 crew aboard. Additional squadrons plan England trips with takeoffs scheduled tomorrow and Sunday.
