Teens Recover from Firecracker Injuries
One boy returned home this week after treatment for burns and eye damage from a firecracker. Clyde Temple spent a month in the Seattle area before coming home, and Jd Haugen was flown south after glass entered his eye from a jar and firecracker blast aboard a boat. The injuries were not permanant to Temple’s eyes.

Timber sale planned for Wrangell Monday
The U S Forest Service will offer 120 million board feet of timber at Bradfield Canal in Wrangell to the highest bidder. Bids begin at 2 p.m. in the federal building courtroom. The sale aims to harvest timber threatened by the hemlock looper, per Regional Forester Howard Johnson.
