Malcolm Shelton from Amarillo also present. Delegates heard talks on planting protecting predatory animal control and wildlife resources. Elliott Barker and Gilbert Espinosa gave official reports. Ray Stamm was elected president Pete Losey vice president and Carlsbad Gallup Tyrone Santa Fe Las Vegas directors were chosen. Twenty six towns were represented and a school study recommendation was approved for game and fish conservation in public instruction.

The second annual potato day tour on Friday September 2 traveled from Cox Canyon to Weed via Russia canyon Muria Water Canyon and Sacramento River. Stops included Chas Bonnell Jr 4 H plots disease comparisons manure and fertilizer tests and a large barbecue at Scott Able Canyon. County agent outlined steps for better potatoes and participants praised the trip despite rough travel.
