Red Cross Home Service Office Opens in Public Welfare Building
An American Red Cross Home Service Room is now in the Public Welfare Building at 801 New York and Eighth Street with hours 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Soldiers are advised of the schedule and can call 194 after hours for appointments. Volunteers Mrs L L Thayer and Mrs M M Clements will be in the office this week with trained workers making Home Service calls over the county.

Red Cross to Supply 106 Hospitals for Soviet Union
The American Red Cross will provide complete equipment for 5,000 civilian hospital patients in 10 U S hospitals in Soviet Russia. Materials will be shipped by the Soviet government on priority ships. beds are excluded and ticking will be used for mattresses. Mrs Morujo Dies in Denver After Long Local Home Life
Mrs Dominga G Morujo a former resident of Otero county died in Denver where her family now lives. Trapping Work In August On Sacramento River and Keyport Ranch
Trapping occurred on the Sacramento River and Stahmann’s ranch. Four coyotes three hobenta two porcupines two skunks and one large male son were taken. Heavy August rains hindered patrolling and trapping while antelope checks near Moon were sent for permit recommendations and no updates have been received. The overall range condition is reported as better than in many years.

German Prisoners Predict Germany Victory From Prison Camp
Two German escapees from Roswell prison camp were captured in Alamogordo after six months of planning.
