Two Warehouses Burned In Sunday Fire
Last Sunday morning fire destroyed the two iron warehouses of R. H. Vierce Co. and J. H. Laurie. The Vierce warehouse held a car of salt and wagons and much household goods valued at about 8000 with 1500 insured in Northern and 500 in Palatine. The Laurie building housed hay for C. Meyer, Rubin furniture for Carl Rubin, and G. C. Seipio hardware, with 1800 loss insured 600 in Palatine 400 in Firemen's Fund and 800 in Royal. Fire started in the Laurie building. doors may have been left open and a spark from a locomotive or a sleeping tramp blamed. Seipio uninsured.
