The Federal Mining & Smelting Co. recently leased Warnock properties east of Alamo and has about five men at work with improved drills and drifts to locate ore bodies. More miners may be added soon as efforts seek a reduction mill size for concentrating ore to ship to the smelter. The ore is a lead carbonate with silver values.

El Paso Herald reports illegal slaughter of wild mountain sheep in the Guadalupe Mountains northeast of El Paso Texas. Road work progress reported on New Mexico highway project
Roswell state highway engineer W C Davidson inspected projects in this district. Five miles of grading and plating on the 12 mile stretch between Crog Grande and Newman have been completed. Veater Davis of El Paso and project engineer J L Vaudel are contracted. J R Nelson and crew finished drainage between La Luz and Alamogordo and moved to west of Tularosa toward Engle. The 40 miles west from Tularosa is done and $5,000 will be spent on Rhodes canyon segment funded by the state highway department.
