Chicago man builds home in compound sale scheme
Last Saturday Clas H Stevenson formerly of Chicago entered Otero County Lumber Co and Frye Furniture Store to buy building material and furniture for a new home. A carpenter was hired through the store, the materials were moved to a Vermont and 12th Street lot purchased from the Improvement Co, and the carpenter finished the job before sunset. Stevensons family will soon move from Chicago to join him in the new residence.

Surfacing Planned For Alamo Cruces Road Seven Miles
State highway office reports 21000 dollars will be promptly appropriated from state funds to surface about seven miles of the Alamogordo Las Cruces highway from near the south end of the White Sands. The section tends to rut after dry spells but now in excellent shape after rain and dragging. Surfacing material will be secured near Herd Springs with a rock crusher likely to be used.
